As always, Nike SB continues to deliver some left-field inspiration for its Dunk drops, with TV and video seemingly a running theme recently. Mere months after the epic Camcorder SB Dunk Low, a Nike SB Dunk High “TV Signal” has appeared to carry on the vintage vibes.
The old analog off-air test pattern arrives splayed across the mid panel and collar and thankfully doesn’t arrive with the eardrum-piercing tone often associated with the screener. Aside from that bold inclusion, the pair remains relatively reserved, with tumbled white leather toes, black suede overlays, and white mesh tongues. For a little extra sauce, Nike SB has tacked on a patent leather Swoosh — perhaps a reference to the sleek, shiny finish of a retro VHS cassette.
According to @nikesbornothing, the US release of these SB Dunks has been canceled — much like the SB Dunk Low “Camcorder” release from earlier this year, again possibly linked to the ongoing hardships in shipping. Despite this, you can expect to see pairs arrive elsewhere around the globe soon — and up on the aftermarket sites listed below shortly thereafter.
Update 04.21.21 Official images of the Nike SB Dunk High “TV Signal” have appeared alongside information that the release will hit the usual global locations except for North America. In other SB news, don’t forget about April 23rd’s “Hawaii” Nike SB Dunk High!
