The process from conceptualizing a sneaker to its final retail release is often a long journey of revisions and refinements. This is especially true for popular releases, such as those from the Nike SB Dunk lineage. Sneaker sampling is a critical stage in ensuring the final product is just right.
Over the years, we've seen some alternate colorways to classic retail releases like the "Black Toe" sample from 2020's "J-Pack." Similarly, last year's Paisley SB Dunks underwent a similar sampling process. Today, we're getting an exclusive peek at one of the potentially many color combinations the brand's skateboarding division considered before finalizing the retail version.
Last year's Paisley SB Dunks were no different from this sampling process, and today we get a first look at one of likely several color combinations tested out by the brand's skateboarding division.
While the retail release saw a third store-favorite brown, green, and pink mix, an alternate option on the table was one in a striking red and navy mix. A simple color swap is all noted, with one-of-one trimming, color accents, and construction to the retail release.
