The Nike Shox TL might no longer be the pinnacle of the brand's performance technology, but it continues to deliver nostalgia in refreshing packages. Recently, the 22-year-old design emerged in a "Black/Varsity Maize" color scheme.
While reminiscent of Batman's classic colors, the newly-surfaced pair has no official connection to the DC Comics universe. (An upcoming Big Bubble Air Max 95 doesn't either, but its color palette is closer to the Caped Crusader's iconic look.) The "Total"-variant of the Nike Shox franchise primarily indulges in a pitch-dark makeover across its mixed-materials upper, setting the stage for the slightest contrast to revel in the spotlight.
Glossy TPU overlays along the profile deliver some eye-catching flair, but pale in comparison to the "Metallic Silver" that takes over swoosh logos and reflective panels on the spine. The stability frame on which the top-half is built features a rich "Varsity Maize," which also animates lace loops along the tongue. Shox-specific branding takes on a "Playful Pink" update that deviates from its surroundings, but keeps things interesting.
Enjoy official photos of the Shox TL ahead. Pairs are expected to hit Nike.com by July for $170.
