Nike Trainer SC High “University Blue” is Coming Soon

After some time out of the limelight, the Nike Trainer SC High saw a small return to shelves in 2020 for its 30th birthday bash. Since then, releases were few and far between, the last of which hitting shelves in mid-2021 in Georgetown garb. Its next looks to one of its biggest rivals in UNC, with this Nike Trainer SC High “University Blue” delivering a Tar Heels take on the classic silhouette.

Fans of the silhouette will immediately recall memories of the “UNC” and “MLB All-Star” releases of yesteryear, with this new-to-market release seemingly borrowing elements from each release. Here, you’ll not a perforated white leather upper working with black Durabuck and matte metallic silver overlays, before bolstering the pair with both the titular and royal blue hues. Interestingly, the pair is fitted with baseball-stitched laces — perhaps a nod to the Kansa City Royals, or as it now appears, a part of a wider Jackie Robinson collection — before returning to more standards finishes underfoot via a three-tone sole unit.
