Nike Air Foamposite One “Beijing” Joins Upcoming “Planet of Hoops” Collection
Said to be an Asian-exclusive release. Nike’s Planet of Hoops collection is, like last year’s “China Hoop Dreams” Pack, a celebratory capsule of all things basketball. Having already previewed the intergalactic pack’s Kyrie 6, KD 13, Air Flight ’89, and Air Jordan 1 Lowcomes the pack’s centerpiece; the “Beijing” Nike Air Foamposite One.
The Foamposite channels the aforementioned Air Jordan 1 in many ways; it borrows a green-blue-orange galactic-print for the uppers, again decorated with lightning strikes throughout; it utilizes snakeskin-textured leather for the eyelets; it boasts glow-in-the-dark outsoles; it features a similar green-flecked insole design — and it comes equipped with a lineal-diamond motif seen here on the heel. In addition, the Beijing Foamposite One includes metallic silver illustrations all-over that include traditional dragon motifs, graffiti-like basketball insignia and hand-drawn Nike Swooshes. Capping off the design is a flecked midfoot shank, Chinese characters printed on the rear pull, and metallic silver branding at the forefeet.
We’re still waiting on the specifics for the collection’s release — which at this stage is tipped for Summer. Until then you can grab an official look at the Planet of Hoops Foamposite here below, and make sure you’re following us on Twitterfor further updates.
