Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) might've come short in the most recent FIFA Club World Cup, but Luis Enrique's side continue to enjoy brand value rivaled by only a handful of sports franchises across the globe. As such, Nike Football will reissue the French club's Home Jersey and other gear from the 2004-05 Ligue 1 season.
The latest effort in an ongoing trend that revisits iconic shirts from the early aughts, the PSG Reissue Collection faithfully recreates the apparel once worn by Pauleta, Jérôme Rothen, and Modeste M'Bami. The consumer electronics company, Thomson Multimedia, appears on the center of the jersey's front side, sharing real estate with a "University Red" stripe running down the left side of the chest and body. The club's starless, retro logo appears on the left side as well, while the top-right corner sees Nike's emblem in a "White" tone that matches the Total 90-appropriate piping down the front of the shirt.
The sides of the Reissue Jersey include ample mesh for optimal breathability. The top of the back side also dons ventilation, while the left sleeve enjoys a ruby-colored panel just as the original did.
It's uncertain whether or not the Swoosh will reissue the '04 shirt with a player-specific number and name, as has been the case with Landon Donovan's USA Jersey retro and Ronaldinho's Brazil shirt. Pre-Match gear and other on-pitch items, however, will release alongside the Home shirt reissue, making for a compelling collection for any fan of Paris Saint-Germain.
Enjoy an early look at the latest from Nike Football ahead. All retro products inspired by PSG should release via Nike.com before autumn gets going.
