Recycled Air Force 1 Low “Desert Camo” is Coming Soon

Nike’s Air Force 1 has always held strong in delivering an abundance of colorways, often experimenting with a plethora of textiles to keep the classic silhouette consistently fresh. It’s also been prevalent in Nike’s overarching “Move to Zero” sustainability project, the latest having appeared as part of an upcoming “Recycled Wool” pack due to kick off its releases in January. But the sustainable efforts aren’t all laces with fleece and neons, with this all-new camo-clad construct appearing today.

Though its recyclability not overtly evident like the aforementioned woolen drops, it has a handful of telltale signs that link it back to Nike’s sustainable series. Firstly, the lightly-flecked sole units consist of a percentage of grind rubber, while omitted rear branding and embroidered tongues are earmarks of the series. Though its the insoles that give it away, with the line’s striking Electric Green gracing the top layer of the insert. Elsewhere, is twill upper comes clad in desert camo which then extends over the supple Photon Dust overlays through the use of strategically mismatched (yet balanced) embroidery — most noticeable at the left shoe’s lateral Swoosh and quarter. The print is then flecked with splashes of red to match the hue of the tongue embroidery, while straight white leathers grace the aforementioned Swoosh and brand-less rear overlay.
