Nike’s focus on sustainability has noticeably gone up a few gears in 2020 with the overarching Move to Zero campaign hosting a bevy of earth-friendly products crafted for the betterment of the Earth. Headlining the push for 2020 is the brand’s audacious Space Hippie lineage, but notable efforts from the brand’s NRG department — in particular, the Nike Dunk Low “Lemon Wash”— has helped the movement in leaps and bounds. Now, joining the quality-constructed Air Max 1 for Fall comes this recycled Air Max 95 NRG “Classic Green”
Though the titular color is used sparingly across the white-and-grey-based release, its prominence at the eyelets —along with the show-stealing oversized heel Swoosh — provided the pair’s biggest pop. It features a similar smooth Flyleather toe cap with and tack-on stitching to the just-released Air Force 1 Crater Foam, while uppers of canvas and overlays of recycled yarn show the pair’s key sustainable features. Underfoot, you’ll find a crisp white midsole filled with Classic Green Air supports, all of which rests atop a likely part-recycled rubber outsole. Completing the design is the NRG’s recyclable neon insoles, complete with grind rubber fleck.
