Saquon Barkley’s Nike Air Trainer 3 Now Releases November 5th

Since the release of the OG Air Trainer 3 “Medicine Ball” back in 2019, the silhouette has enjoyed a slow stream of releases to keep the old heads happy. It’s been a minute since we last saw the model — and it’s been a long time since we last saw New York Giant Running Back Saquon Barkley, too, so it’s fitting that both have returned in action this season. After missing nearly a full season of action, Saquon Barkley took the field this past Sunday taking snaps for the first time since tearing his ACL in September of 2020. And right on cue, his new Nike Air Trainer 3 design is right behind it.

Gaining acclaim with Bo Jackson in the ’90s, the Air Trainer 3 has now been re-imagined by Saquon, an athlete inspired by Bo who’s defining his own legacy. The Nike Saquon Air Trainer 3 features nods to New York across the body of the shoe—including the reflective detailing tailored to look like the construction zones that have helped shape New York. Saquon’s lightning logo is found on the heel of the shoe, his number, 26, is seen on the tongue and two black stripes over the left lateral Swoosh are highlighted in honor of the eyeblack Saquon plans to wear on the field this season. Ultimately, each personal detail underscores how the Air Trainer 3 has been reimagined to fit a new era and reflect Saquon’s signature style — it even arrives with two accompanying gold chains.
