The Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny 2 “White” Drops November 10

Back for its 25th anniversary in 2021, Penny Hardaway’s second signature Nike Sneaker already has a big-name collaboration lined up with Stussy — but that’s not all. After revealing the Air Penny 1 in two collaborative colorways, retailers Social Status have now have another installment to their Air Penny collection, with the unveiling of the Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny 2 — again in two colorways.

True to Social Status’ past, the pair is packed full of details, a lot of which occurs outside the sneaker by-way-of special packaging and hangtags — and likely an epic marketing campaign, too. The special packaging mimics an action figure display case as an ode to the miniature Lil’ Penny character which helped propel the Penny Sneaker linage into popularity. Inside the boxes are a pair of bone/university blue and black/university blue suede built sneakers, with steel grey timing, co-branded ankles, insoles, and underfoot Air bubbles, and striking white midsole rises and rope laces to brighten up the pair. It comes complete with a special Penny 2 hangtag and the aforementioned special-edition packaging.

Of course, this is not the only Stussy collaboration on the way for the new year, with the long-time Nike partners also linking up on the Air Force 1 for its 40th anniversary.

Update 09.19.22 // Social Status has revealed a release date for their two-pack of Nike Air Penny 2s for tomorrow, September 20; a wider SNKRS release is currently penned for October 19 (Black) and November 10 (White)
