Nike Air Max 90 “Happy Pineapple” Drops June 17th

Nike’s Air Max 90 has seen its fair share of colorful colorways over the past 18 months, with its 30th anniversary year in 2020 materializing some of the silhouette’s most diverse options in recent history. For 2021 we’re seeing much of the same, with whimsical options like the Valentine’s Day “Love Letter”, a fried chicken-inspired release, and the return of the famed DQM “Bacon” collaboration. Joining that playful posse is this Nike Air Max 90 “Happy Pineapple”, one which joins a theme already explored on the Air Max 95.

Like the accompanying AM95, this Air Max 90 “Happy Pineapple” arrives in very much the same styling. A warming cream canvas construction hosts recycled pineapple twill in both a caramel brown — found here on the Swoosh and rear overlay — and a tonal hue across the mudguard and collar. Like shades of muted pink and lime flutter through the pair’s eyelets, branded panels, and Air cassettes, while an identical white midsole/gritty cinder outsole combo resides underfoot. Once again, the playful pineapple rests prominently at the tongue to highlight the pair’s use of recycles fruit fibres, as does the forefoot numbering reading “94430” — the grocery store code for organic pineapples.

A release date for this “Happy Pineapple” Air Max 90 is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com over the coming weeks.
