The Nike Air Penny 5 “Invisibility Cloak” Reappears

Alakazam! It’s back. The Nike Air Penny 5 “Invisibility Cloak” has returned to retailers fittingly, coming out of nowhere. It adds to a slowly-building schedule for Penny Hardaway’s signature sneakers, with Foamposites starting to gear up again for 2020, as well as a “Blue Chips” makeover of the same silhouette that’s scheduled to drop in less than two weeks to celebrate the 26th anniversary the film.

Here, though, the 1:1 remake of 2013’s “Invisibility Cloak” release sees the same black mesh, nubuck and textile upper with vibrant Atomic Teal touches throughout. Soft teal sole units lay underfoot, with the pair’s championing piece — the wavy iridescent midsoles — sitting aggressively above it, The glistening finish also arrives on some subtle lines on the pair’s upper, and the pair is capped off with Penny’s famed 1-Cent motifs sitting prominently on the tongue and heel.
