Nike is celebrating Kobe Bryant’s legacy with the "Year of the Mamba" collection, a tribute to the Mamba Mentality and a challenge for athletes to push themselves toward greatness. Combining performance innovation with cultural symbolism for the Lunar Year 2025, the collection includes footwear, apparel, and exclusive designs inspired by Kobe’s relentless pursuit of excellence.

Leading the lineup is the Kobe 5 Protro “Year of Mamba, featuring an iridescent “Eggplant” colorway with updated Protro midfoot foam and a forefoot Zoom Air unit for unmatched court performance. The silhouette includes nods to Kobe’s career and Lunar New Year symbolism, with the “University Red” colorway exclusive to China.

Complementing the footwear is a premium apparel line headlined by a Kobe jacket with a satin-like finish and quilted interior, embroidered with a snake entwined around five rings in honor of Kobe’s championships. The collection also features lifestyle-focused T-shirts, crews, and fleece pants designed to take Mamba Mentality beyond the court.

The collection expands further with the Details Collection on February 8, reimagining on-court staples, and additional Protros, including the Kobe 9 Elite High Protro “Masterpiece” and Kobe VI Protro “Sail”, set to launch throughout February.

The Kobe 5 Protro Year of Mamba and apparel release January 9 at nike.com and select retailers, with more details to follow for the February launches, so make sure to keep your eyes locked onto our official twitter for further updates.
