As we get deeper into what would have been the NBA Playoffs, we’re beginning to see more and more #LeBronWatch tooled sneakers for the King. Obviously Nike had planned some big things for James this postseason, with Billy Hoyle’s Command Force, an Air Uptempo, and a “What The” LeBron 17 all having surfaced in a matter of weeks. Another retro-inspired release has just joined them — and dear lord it’s spectacular. Yes, it appears that Nike is issuing an upcoming Nike LeBron 17 “Graffiti” colorway inspired by the Nike LeBron 4 “Graffiti” aka “New York City” that debuted back in 2006:
The famed colorway has gone on to influence a slew of LeBron releases over the years, but this is taking it to another level. Although they are 13 years apart in age, they are linked together by one material: Foamposite. Here, though, the 17 removes the Knitposite from the upper and adds its to an outer shell that’s ripped straight from the 4. They’ve also added in like-for-like nubuck collars. Translucent-red outsole rises up at the heel and runs toe the toe, while white uppers, red forefoot mini Swoosh embroidery, black laces, and oversized heel pulls complete the design.
