A Second Stranger Things “Starcourt Mall” Sneaker Appears!
Joining the Nike Blazer that was previewed over the weekend comes this matching “Starcourt Mall” Nike Cortez — a pair that possesses a hidden Upside Down layer that’s only visible once the upper is burnt away.
Inspired by Hawkins’ freshly built Starcourt Mall, a building which houses a secret Russian lab beneath. It’s textured, woven pastel upper is a direct reference to the fictional mall’s exterior, which reveals a hidden Upside Down layer underneath when burned off. Hidden details continue on the insoles, sporting plans and sketches from integral parts of the plot, and lifts to reveal the Russian code intercepted by Dustin in episode one. Heel tabs rock a neutral grey accented by bright red Nike embroidery, with the sole unit arriving split between crisp white and grey, and co-branded tongue tabs complete the design. As an added bonus, the pairs will arrive with two sets of laces — white for the real world, and black for the Upside Down layer — and a co-branded (what appears to be a) metal lace case.
