Charles Barkley’s iconic Air Max2 CB ’94 Low is set to join Nike SB’s growing roster of retooled basketball silhouettes. The upcoming skate-ready version will release as part of a three-pair capsule developed with Supreme. It's scheduled for early 2026, including options in “Black,” “Metallic Gold,” and “Varsity Red.”
Initially reported by Sneaker Market, the news follows Nike SB’s high-profile successes with the Air Jordan 4 and confirmed SB iterations of the Air Trainer 1 and Air Max 95. With Nike continuing to experiment beyond its traditional skate lineup, Barkley’s mid-90s signature model now gets its chance to shine—on grip tape instead of hardwood.
Although Nike SB has long focused on the Dunk, transitioning to other retro basketball silhouettes reflects a wider creative strategy. The Air Max2 CB ’94 Low, first introduced during the NBA’s big-man era, fits naturally into skate performance thanks to its bootie-like construction. While that feature once made it tough to slip on, it now translates to enhanced lockdown for skating. More importantly, the design’s heel-only Air Max unit allows for better forefoot board feel, a priority among skaters.
All three Nike SB Air Max2 CB ’94 Low colorways are expected to launch during spring. The trio is likely to be exclusive to Supreme, although that may differ. While you wait for firm details, enjoy official photos of the pairs ahead.
