Virgil Abloh has been dearly missed by culture-at-large since his untimely passing in November 2021, but the Virgil Abloh Archive™ has embarked on a mission to keep his legacy alive through initiatives, product launches, and other endeavors. One such way that the organization is promoting the late Illinois-native's vision is through an X2 Nike Collection for the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ tournament. Apparel, accessories, and a Cryoshot have been created in collaboration with the United States Soccer Federation.

Made for pre-match, the Virgil Abloh Archive™ X2 range follows in the same steps as G-DRAGON's PEACEMINUSONE and five other fashionable imprints developing collections for their respective national football teams. Items created with the USMNT in mind blend national identity, sports heritage, and the playfulness Abloh oftentimes funneled into his work. Big logos, patriotic colors and motifs, and a cast of different mascots help V.A.A. tell its story for football's biggest tournament.

Nike Football already unveiled USMNT's 2026 World Cup™ kits, but the X2 project with Abloh's estate further bridges the gap between what happens on-the-pitch amongst elite athletes and the fans that support the red, white, and blue from wherever they are in the world.

V.A.A. is set to release its X2 collection with Nike and U.S. Soccer before June ends. The official @nikesportswear Instagram account launched a teaser video for the project, which stars Mariel Margaret "Mia" Hamm, a former U.S. international. In the video, the FIFA Women's World Cup-winner wears some of the gear forming part of the impending collaboration—including a Nike Cryoshot.

The Virgil Abloh Archive™ Cryoshot included in the X2 collection was initially previewed in Paris by way of the expanded Virgil Abloh: The Codes exhibit at Grand Palais. The pair (SKU: IM3886-100) features a clean "White/University Red/Black" color scheme and design elements associated with the late Abloh. The base for the footwear style seems to be an old Nike Tiempo football boot.

Enjoy detailed shots of the X2 2026 Collection for Team USA ahead, as they continue to surface. All items are expected to launch via V.A.A. and the U.S. Soccer Federation first, before landing on Nike SNKRS and through select retailers throughout summer.
