    Air Jordan Releases May 2026

A Sport-Driven Start to the Month

May 2026 opens with Jordan Brand leaning into performance adaptations of its core retros. The month of releases begins on May 1st, with a series of reworked silhouettes built specifically for sport, headlined by the Air Jordan 11 Low and Jordan Legacy 312 Low, both redesigned for the gridiron in cleated form. At the same time, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG Retro “Chicago” transitions to the golf course, arriving in both a traditional spiked version and a mule-style option. It’s a clear signal that the brand is continuing to expand its heritage models beyond lifestyle into more functional categories, while maintaining its steady run of retro updates.

A kids-exclusive Air Jordan 4 “Black Infrared” is also expected to arrive on May 1st, adding to an already busy opening day on the Air Jordan Release Dates Calendar.

The Return of the “Banned” Story

On May 2, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG Retro “Banned” (Bred) returns, bringing with it one of the most referenced stories in the brand’s history. The black and red colorway is tied to the NBA’s 1985 uniform regulations, when Michael Jordan was fined for wearing non-compliant footwear early in his career. While the Nike Air Ship was central to those early penalties, the narrative has long been associated with the Air Jordan 1, helping define the “Banned” identity. Its return in low-top form keeps that legacy intact with the familiar black and red blocking, continuing a long line of retro storytelling tied to the original release.

    Mid-Month Celebrations and Global Themes

Jordan Brand shifts into themed releases as the month progresses. May 9 sees the arrival of a special Air Jordan 11 Low for Mother’s Day, continuing the brand’s annual run of family-focused drops. A week later, on May 16, a dual release brings the Nike Air-branded Air Jordan 3 “World’s Best Dad” and the (also Nike Air-branded) Air Jordan 3 “Brazil.” The former continues the celebratory theme, while the latter aligns with a broader global push as Jordan Brand builds momentum in Brazil ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Both releases continue the brand’s consistent use of retro models to tell new stories across different audiences.

    A Head-to-Head Release on May 22

One of the most anticipated moments of the month arrives on May 22, when two major collaborations are set to release on the same day. Nigel Sylvester’s Air Jordan 4 “Brick After Brick” lands alongside Travis Scott’s pink-accented Air Jordan 1 Low OG. Both names carry strong momentum, and the overlap creates a rare direct comparison between two of the year’s most in-demand sneakers. With Sylvester’s ongoing “Bike Air” rollout and Travis Scott’s continued run on the low-top Air Jordan 1, the date shapes up as one of the most competitive on the calendar and a key moment across upcoming Air Jordan release dates.

Closing Out May with Long-Awaited Releases

The month wraps with a pair of notable retros. The Air Jordan 12 “Bloodline” finally arrives after a prolonged cycle of announcements and delays, bringing closure to one of the more drawn-out releases in recent memory. Shortly after, the retro of the Air Jordan 4 “Toro Bravo” returns on May 30, completed without Nike Air branding, bringing back one of the silhouette’s most recognizable red-based colorways to close the month.

Yet to be confirmed for the month, but expected to release, is the women ’s-exclusive Air Jordan 6 “Sail/Neutral Olive,” adding another retro option to an already packed schedule.

A Quick Look Ahead to June 2026

Jordan Brand carries that momentum into June. Supreme is set to reunite with the Jumpman for a new collection, while the 2017 Air Jordan 1 High OG “Sail” will return in low-top form. The brand’s Bin 23 line is also slated to make a comeback with a super-limited Air Jordan 3. Elsewhere, two archival releases are set to reappear: the Air Jordan 5 “Black/University Blue” and the Air Jordan 7 “Miro.”

In other Jordan news, the brand has been busy in April, unveiling a slew of college-exclusive Air Jordan 14s.
